What’s New on Netflix in December 2024

Netflix has a packed December lineup of live events, comedy hours, and popular series. The platform will stream two NFL games on Christmas Day—Ravens vs. Texans and Chiefs vs. Steelers—and let’s hope it goes more smoothly than November’s Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson live events. (Netflix will be hosting another live event in December: A Nonsense Christmas with Sabrina Carpenter is a music variety show that will air on Dec. 6 at 9 p.m. ET.)

Also in sports is Aaron Rodgers: Enigma (Dec. 17), a docuseries following the Jets quarterback as he recovers from an Achilles injury (with a look into his personal life) and Polo (Dec. 10), a five-episode, behind-the-scenes look at elite players preparing for the U.S. Open Polo Championship.

Returning to Netflix in December is The Great British Baking Show: Holidays (Dec. 9) featuring contestants from previous seasons; a new season of Queer Eye (Dec. 11), based in Vegas and featuring new Fab Five member Jeremiah Brent; and the next installment of South Korean survival series Squid Game (Dec. 26).

One of the biggest movie titles coming to Netflix next month is Maria (Dec. 11), which stars Angelina Jolie as the opera singer Maria Callas. The film was directed by Pablo Larraín and completes his biographical drama trilogy about 20th century women (Jackie was released in 2016 and Spencer in 2021).

Finally, Netflix has an extended comedy lineup to close the year, with new specials from Fortune Feimster, Jamie Foxx, Ronny Chieng, Nate Bargatze, and Michelle Buteau.

Here’s everything coming in December, and everything that’s leaving.
